Reboot 9 - Nicole Simon interviews Ben Blench
That's me!As promised a few days ago, here's a link to that interview I did last Thursday with Nicole from Cruel to be Kind.
Download MP3 (32 min, 18,8 MB)
It's a half-hour chat covering most areas of the talk I'm going to give at Reboot 9 later this week: what makes human language different from animal communication, do programming languages count as languages?, why computers fail , why telepathy would work so much better than words, and much, much more.

Enjoy!

We're on wiki :D
Something we created actually made it on to Wikipedia. Even better, 2 somethings :) Unfortunately Mediacatalyst isn't mentioned as the creator but it's still very cool to see our stuff gets noticed.
If you want to see for yourself:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_Flex
The section in question is: Notable Sites using flex. Both the Nomos application (for schiphol airport) and the Product Catalog (for Sony Ericsson) made it onto the list. Perhaps it's silly to be this excited about finding this out but it's like getting a good score on a report card. My baby is deemed Noteworthy :D so there...
Now I have to fight the urge to fill in: "we made this" on the wiki page.
Yap yap rabbit rabbit
I'm a talking head!
Nicole Simon of Cruel to be Kind and Bloxpert is interviewing me this Thursday as a prelude to the excitement of next week's Reboot.
That's all. Now get back to work.
A Greener MC
Yesterday Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple penned an open letter to the internet pledging a "greener Apple" which made me think of us as a company and our attitude towards the environment. I realise that we're not an MNC (yet!) and we don't have an impact on the environment that a company like Apple would have BUT I still think we can all play a little part in saving out planet.
So how can I contribute???

Time to fill all you wonderful people out there in internetland on something we've been working on for a while now, to wit: a suite of complementary activities for Dunlop Motorsport. The obvious place to start is the new Dunlop Sportmax site, promoting their range of motorcycle tires in 6 European languages. It's pneumatic!

If you're quick, you might still be in with a chance of winning a place at a Race Academy in their quiz. Just answer 10 simple questions as quickly as possible for the chance of a 3 day track session being taught to ride like a pro.

And that's not all (Read more...)
